I strongly suspected and still do that Vyasar is not mentally stable. Do these matchmakers have any obligation to verify the mental health of their clients?...He scares me a little. I feel for him with his situation but something about him...
His life story has a lot to process. That said, he seems like a nice person who has handled his situation in what is probably e best way possible. Have you read interviews with him outside of the show? He comes off as incredibly kind and very well-spoken.
Vyasar is definitely needy and controlling. He needs to work on himself. He's obese and his jolly persona belies his anger. He's so over the top and exhausting. I hope he gets therapy, marries an American who doesn't care about his dad (Indians are too obsessed with the family issue) and does a lot of yoga to calm down and be centered. He's all over the map.
Wow, he is obese? Did we watch the same show? I totally did not get needy and controlling vibe from him. Is there more info out there about him that i am missing?
Watching now and Aparna is just exhausting. I know a real life one and she is still single at 43. Or Aparna, being overly ambitious, will not give up and get married to someone who will be a bad match.
I can’t believe that she called the first suitor a loser on television. Very negative and bitter - but who knows how she suffered in her marriage, which was truly arranged/forced? That may have tainted her outlook on men and life in general. We don’t know how she got to be this way.
Speaking from the Indian perspective, aparna‘s first suitor is a loser. He’s charming but is a middle aged man without a career who is still trying to discover himself. Considering how much money aparna was paying to the matchmaker, I understand the negativity.
Meaning I got this vibe way before I got to the episode where he discussed his dad.
He was one of the more normal ones IMO

@Anonymous I think under that is someone rageful and unstable. I just get that vibe. And very needy and controlling.

I kinda want to be her friend. She'll tell it like it is. Her and her mother should just live together forever -- that's her real soulmate.
She lacks self-confidence and is overcompensating.
This
That son in India with the uptight mother seemed much more crazy to me
The mother is a monster
This.
