What does overpaid mean? Overpaid compared to comps at the time of purchase? Compared to now? Were you comfortable with it when you bought? We paid a lot 10 years ago, it's still a lot now and possibly more than we could get if we sold, but it's a good size and we love our neighborhood, so I really don't spend any time thinking about what we paid.
We moved out of Manhattan to an outer borough 6 yrs ago and bought our place for what seems like nothing. It's allowed us to save and invest a ton, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think how much I love this place. Right now the view of the coming sunset over the trees is spectacular.
Are you the one who bought a 3BD on UWS and regrets it? If the price is the only thing you hate but you can afford it and can ride out this downturn, stop focusing on that. The city will recover and your apartment will appreciate again. Friends who bought at height before the last crisis felt the same way but they eventually recovered quite well. It's hard to time the market and even more so to predict a pandemic.
Do you hate it independent of the fact that you think you overpaid? When did you buy?
Deb 2017 and I think I feel trapped in NY so I hate it more and resent me overpaid

@Anon Eh, she's really not that happy if she felt the need to post that on this thread.

I agree. You just have to wait it out. The market will rebound.
This. And it could be smaller and crappier. people would kill for that much space right now.
