Anyone willing to share how much it costs per hour to have a home attendant help an aging parent with stuff like getting dressed and preparing lunch? When I call the agencies they all immediately want me to sign up (of course) before they tell me. Thanks
Hmm maybe try placing an ad directly on care.com. We did that in the past. didn't end up pursuing. I think you can do minimum wage. I have friends who repurposed a former nanny of theirs to care for an elderly parent, so she was a known quantity.
Similar to a nanny depending on difficulty of job and experience. $20+/- Agencies are very expensive and pay them less. Just a caveat... if this is going to turn into more care that you eventually want to submit to a long term care insurance plan you need the certifications that agencies ensure.
