Growing up and into adulthood (and to a lesser extent now) I kept journals. Were others here journal writers? Obviously, there is a risk of someone reading them, but they remain yours. I realize that I (and many others----given the posts here and on UB about saving old posts) shared much of our innermost thoughts in the form of questions or other, and at the time of writing probably never realized how easily they could be lost. Within a 3-4 time period I "lost" some of this history (a much treasured/loved parent FB group blew up just before UB). As I think about it I want to get back into my journaling more.
Yes, I've kept journals, on and off, from about age 13 through about 10 years ago, though I sometimes keep small vacation journals.
I kept journals religiously since my late teens, and still do. I moved my journaling into Evernote about 8 or 9 years ago. I still journal but I notice that I now more often rely on my old texts, photos, and instagram to reconstruct where I was and what happened. I don't like it!
My mother always comments on the contrast between journals and FB/social media culture. She can't understand how we'd ever want to share our ideas with others.
