person are also online, so they are still staring at a computer all day but just in a classroom instead of their bedroom. It's pretty awful but I'm not sure if there is a better way to do both at the same time?

is this at Dalton?
Are the teachers in the classroom? Majority of students in DC classroom is in-person but have a few doing virtual (by choice). They have a wide angle camera in the classroom that automatically focuses on the person talking. There is a screen in the front of the classroom that shows the few kids doing virtual and although not perfect, sort of feels like they are together. We did a few virtual days when my DC was under the weather and was better than what I had expected. Private preschool.
hmm.. i feel like our school described it this way but it's turned out to be everyone online on google classroom whether home or in person. Usually teacher is in the classroom. Kids are older (MS/HS) but it's such a bummer to be on a computer all day every day
I teach in person with some kids on Zoom. The camera is pointed at the board so the kids at home can see me and see the board. I teach to both groups but I have older kids so it works ok.
In person teacher teaches in person, no computers involved. In remote days, hybrid kids join fully remote kids with a different teacher, who has TAs to facilitate some small group work. Both teachers teach the same material.
wow, this is a good model! What school(s) are doing this?
@Anonymous, lower grades at a CW elementary.
We have been full time since October, but when they were hybrid there was 1 time the kids would check in online with the class during the day. there were a couple of other meetings with teacher aides in small groups. And the rest of the time had small assignments. The other half of the class would do this the next day. Repeat for second half of week. Weds were off.
