42 and have always done fine with tracking cycles / ovulation and using condoms when i'm ovulating. lately wondering if it even matters! the internet says at 42 there's only a 9% chance of getting pregnant each cycle, and after 45 there's less than 1% chance of getting pregnant naturally each cycle. It's strange to realize how little "risk" there is of getting pregnant now, I think I never let go of how they drilled fear of getting pregnant into me as a teen.

The less you want to get pregnant the higher chance there is :) Keep using birth control.
I would never take that risk! 40 here and husband has had a vasectomy. I also have an IUD, but I got that after his vasectomy for medical reasons. Double coverage!
To me, 9% is not low risk at all.
That was my grandmother who got pregnant, unplanned, at 45.
Husband got a vasectomy after #2, we were both 38, and I never spent another second thinking about birth control. Bliss :-)
Same here. After #3, both 40, I told him it’s either condoms or ✂️ .
@anonymous +2, that was the best choice.
Absolutely yes. Early 50s, probably almost zero % chance but almost zero is not the same as zero.
