I have tried every salon and I don’t feel like i ever get a good cut. I’ve done Devachan ouidad and smaller places that claim they are curly hair experts. Is it time to just give in and do a keratin? Any recommendations would be helpful
Hair Rules Salon, Dickey Anthony. He has a ton of youtube videos also that have helped me while I am abroad. See if any of his techniques help. Curly hair is so hard to maintain and keep right.
Also - check out She knows how to tame all textures. I started with Dickey when I had straight blond hair - lol and then over time went curly with Edris. Edris is more holistic hair health. Dickey is more curly specific. Both give a shit. But the dickey youtube videos were a lifeline to me in covid.
I don't know where you live, but I had tried several of the same and finally found a local lady in a tiny salon who is amazing, but she is in Kingsbridge, in the Bronx. If that works for you, the salon is called Angela's Beauty.
I agree with this in concept! I don't always like what those "curly experts" are going for. Most salons for white people think my hair is really difficult to manage and struggle, but many small Dominican Salons think I have lovely, easy-to-manage hair and do an amazing job. They are also fast and inexpensive!
