I don't know a ton about the Makos, but it's a good program. My daughter is on the Asphalt Green team and we attend a lot of the same swim meets. The kids on the Mako team do well.
My DC used to swim with AGUA and met a few friends who transferred in from Mako. From what we heard, the team is great, the families are great, and all the swimmers & families seems to really like the team. Most of the kids transfered to AGUA to continue to advance / as they get older.
Sounds like it's a great team to start swimming (AGUA is much bigger and your swimmer may get less attention when they're starting out, and need more attention to correct forms and technique).
Hi! I have had a kid on both teams. For us, asphalt green was a better fit due to the pool location and practice schedule. Some of the mako pools were really inconvenient for us. The makos are a great team, more close knit than agua, but my kid preferred the instruction at asphalt green.
