So they’re open tomorrow and closed Friday?
My understanding was they are closed tomorrow (Thursday).
Here's the tweet: New York City has reached the 3% testing positivity 7-day average threshold. Unfortunately, this means public school buildings will be closed as of tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 19, out an abundance of caution. We must fight back the second wave of COVID-19.
So private and parochial schools, restaurants, bars, gyms, etc can stay open but publics have to close? FU DeBlasio!
Hate to say it, but none of those are unionized.
So true, it’s the unions......
any private schools closing?
Probably only a matter of time.
@Anonymous I predict Hunter will fall in line with public schools. (if they don't, buckle up for 100 emails from their annoying union)
They would be right in this circumstance as there is no plan for the winter.
However, people who work in restaurants and gyms are going broke and can barely get by. There needs to be some limited, safe way to keep those businesses open so people and their families can survive!
So in other words I can understand why schools would close before those businesses.
or we could just give people money so they can stay home. UBI, unemployment benefit bump, etc.
@Anon This. There is a way to do both.
