DF prefers books as gifts to encourage reading. What are some good books that are funny for kids that age? Trying to avoid potty humor, and he already has a bunch of Mo Willems books. Any other ideas? TY!
My soon-to-be 6yo is obsessed with maps at the moment. it’s totally possible this is his own thing, but the Nat Geo Children’s world atlas is getting a LOT of use in this house...
Thank you!! I read such great reviews about the gruffalo. But a lot of them say their toddler loves her books. Do you think they’re still good for a 6 year old?
I was not familiar with Ungerer and his books sound great! Was going to try Emile, but one of the reviews says there is gun violence? Do you remember what that’s about? It sounded great otherwise.
There is a part where the octopus is helping police to catch smugglers, and the smugglers are shooting at the police. It is a few sentences over the course of a few pages. Note: these books are from the 1960s.

haha -- isn't it funny how they get into these little hobbies :)
My son loves InvestiGators and Last Kids on Earth
Never heard of that either -- thank you!!
we really like the "ultimate book of ..." series, favorites are the "ultimate book of planet earth" and "ultimate book of the space."
Also agree that Mr. Men (buy the entire set) and everything Julia Donaldson (gruffalo, room on the broom, etc) are great.

Yes because the six year old can actually read it himself
Ah perfect. Thank you!!
Books by Jon Agee (The Wall in the Middle of the Book, Terrific, among others) or Tomi Ungerer (Mellops, Rufus, Emile, among others) are also great.
Thank you!

Maybe harry potter would be a great choice
