I read a similar post from August, was hoping maybe someone has more feedback now.
And I realize no one has a crystal ball and it is not a yes/no answer...
I miss the city, even though I realize it is no longer what it was in February, last time I visited.
Have been searching diligently for job opportunities and keeping an eye on rents. Talk almost daily to the few friends I have that still live there.
For a while it seemed that rents were getting more affordable, but honestly in the past month they seem to be going up again. And of course the job market is what it is...
I would really love to move back. It's hard to tell how bad it has become - and if I could hope to have a "decent" quality of life. One of my friends down plays the current situation (but for her money is not an issue and owns a 3 bdr apt with a terrace and a home in the Catskills) another friend thinks it will never come back and for over six months has been saying she and dh want to move, but still haven't.
I am going through a divorce. I will be alone and NYC is the place I lived in the longest and where I still have a few friends.
I trust the advice from women on this forum, and just hope to get your thoughts and feedback on how you are dealing with the daily life - if you have decided to stay put and not leave, especially if you are not extremely wealthy. Thank you.
