I know quite a lot of families stayed East and enrolled kids in the local schools for this year. Anyone have a sense of whether this Is a one year thing or if families are making the move permanent? Too soon to make the call? I know a couple of families in both scenarios. Just curious.
I know a lot of people with houses out there but they are doing remote school. My understanding is that the local schools arent great. That said, Im dont see anyone moving perm. They will be back.
Some people enrolled at Ross.
@anonymous avenues opened up in bridgehampton also
Hopefully.
We are in WH school district. Kids enrolled this year and we'll likely stay at least one more year. We are seriously considering staying out here permanently
Np - what are the factor(s) behind your decision?
Kids are super happy in school here. We we’re in a public in NYC but are out of our apt. I can’t see us going back to live / work in a 3 bedroom with the high quality of life we have here. When I have to “go back” for work, we’ll decide then. Hubby can go in whenever. I may quit may job. TBD.
@Anonymous glad it is working for you! We have friends at WHB schools and they like it also.
I can't stand when people say "hubby." just grates on me. Carry on.
I doubt it, a year or two with the carni folk and they’ll all be back to NYC!
what?
Carnival Folk. Can be easily distinguished from homo-sapiens by their lack of teeth, greasy never-washed mullet, bad posture and horrific smell. Can be found in their natural habitat at most Carnivals, Festivals and other Social events. Will shout as loud as humanly possible from their booth in the hopes that they will somehow convince you to give them money. Scientific research has shown that Carnies share specific strands of DNA with that of the common bush rat. As such, their grotesque and disfigured appearance may be the result of a mixture of Rodent Genetics and the Bubonic Plague.
