Anyone else stuck in a different country than their parents?
Parents are in the UK - too risky for them to come here; I could go there but would have to quarantine for 2 weeks and not sure about taking the kids. Anyone else in this boat? Feels like will be 2021 before i see them..!
I’m just in a different part of the USA than my parents but it is the same situation. I would have to do A 2 week quarantine and I have no idea what I would do with my kid. We’re all in the same boat.
My sister lives abroad along with half of my extended family. It's hard because in the past few months, we've had a family death here and a family death there. And we were apart for it (obviously). My mom is trying to fly over there, and they keep denying her entry, even with quarantine.
This is an interesting thought. I would love to spend the year in Europe, now that I know online will be an option in my district for the whole school year.
I am. And so sad I cannot see my parents... was supposed to go late spring, finally after 5 years. My mom has Alzheimers and getting worse every year... They are in Europe. I hope I may be able to see them next summer.

At least you could drive there if you really wanted. My parents are in Europe and it isn’t safe enough to fly.
Yes, thank God ;)
Me too. Family in Europe.
I had a moment of crisis when I considered whether I should send my kid to grandma for a few months if schools are mostly/all remote. ..

Meant this as a reply to the poster who thought about sending the kids to grandma.
