Lol no. There would have been protests if Trump had succeeded in stopping the democratic process--stopping the counts in the Rust Belt, for example. That's not a Biden loss.
However you want to characterize it, that was the concern in NYC that motivated boarding up storefronts. Not that Trump supporters would come and blow out Macy's windows.
I hope the overwhelming blueness of the city and willingness of blue peaceful protestors to show up in the tens and hundreds of thousands over this administration will make that unappealing.
There already were Trump supporters intimidating voters near early voting sites in Brooklyn. It will be very easy for them to come again, but I hope not. I agree that for the inauguration they will plan something. Especially after the embarrassing turnout for Trump's inauguration, they will want to show support for their leader now.
Yes. The Trumpers are nut bags w/ violent tendencies. He will fan the flames too. Those Quanon guys were arrested on their way to Philly w/ fake ballots and an AR15 .
All the storefronts on the city were boarded up in case Trump won. There have been no reports of rioting since the election was called. Strange how some people like to destroy their own city and home.
Not trolling, but is this via tv news? anyone who lives in the city and thinks all the storefronts were boarded up, chime in. (& if you think turning off cable news would help us all, add that too.)
@SilenceDogood Not much at all boarded up near us in BK, but haven't been into Manhattan.
Speaking of cable news, actually, I think that Fox News deserves some grudging acknowledgement for reducing the chances of Trumpie riots. Don't get me wrong, what they've done is literally the bare minimum expectation for responsible journalism, but if they hadn't done that bare minimum by calling states promptly, calling the race on Sat like everyone else, cutting away and fact-checking Trump's rants, I think the reaction could have been a lot different.
no. i'm sure there will be some but nothing wide scale because of the long play out of results. i suppose they will try to rally for the inauguration
In NY, the greater risk was Biden loss violence.

Yep. Businesses had to protect themselves from the same rioters and looters
I'm not confident the Trump constituency won't rise up regardless. They can martial supporters from Staten Island, burbs, wherever too.
You're delusional.

@SilenceDogood I live in Manhattan and I saw quite a few stores boarded up. Some have been taken down already.
Lots boarded up in city. Macy's. Bergdorf. Probably saks. DSW. Claire's!
Lol @ Claire's
As soon as he won I wanted scented erasers as reparations.
