I exercised this morning, a barre class on streaming from my living room, nothing crazy - I do this about 3 times a week. I am 52 in good health... had a light snack before working out and then an egg and toast after the class. Was feeling fine.
About an hr ago, I was putting away some grocery and suddenly I started feeling off balance, not really dizzy but almost as if I am on a moving platform or something and felt a bit wobbly walking. I got so scared... drank more water (I make sure I drink a lot throughout the day) and sat for a while. But still feel the same. I can't explain it, it's like being a bit "off".
I don't want to worry, but could someone pls explain why this might happen? Anything I should do? Should I lie down for a bit?
I am basically alone. Dh is in the other bedroom, but we have been separated in the apartment for almost a year and on the way to divorce. He barely talks to me and I cannot complain to him or expect any support if I am not feeling great.
Again, I just hope this feeling goes away. I am not sure what is causing it and hope it is not vertigo... I appreciate any feedback.
Not MD mom, but menopause?
thanks for writing. I am not sure if it is menopause, I am probably past that part of menopause w symptoms like hot flashes, etc... but in general never experienced this. I am just worried because it has now been almost 2 hrs.
@Anonymous hungry? I think I understand what you mean and have had it temporarily. kind of like your mind being disconnected from your mind, like separated. i can't really put it into words, but I think I understand. other causes could be vitamin deficiencies, or anemia and depression / anxiety.
I wouldn’t say disconnected, I am fine that way. It is more a physical sensation, of being off balance- not dizzy but a bit “wobbly“ that is what scares me. I did eat a snack a while ago, but it didn’t help much.
MD mom... could be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, vestibulitis, etc
Hi Md mom, thanks for responding. That sounds a bit scary... is there anything I should do? Will it go away? Thank you
By the way, yes, disequilibrium is the right term for the sensation.
@Anonymous Im so sorry- I def can't tell you if this is what you have over the internet. If it persists I would go see your doctor. I hope it was a one-off!
