Do any of you feel like your anxiety is getting worse as you get into your 40s? I always have had it but it seems so much worse in the last couple of years. I'm about to be 43. Granted I have had a lot of extremely stressful life events recently not to mention ongoing end times. But I don't know, my body is so much more sensitive to everything, it seems. A cup of coffee or the wrong food can make me anxious for 12 hours straight, stuff like that. Do you think this is hormonal, like I'm getting towards peri menopause or just circumstance/aging? My periods are regular and not bad.

YES! Especially before I have my period. Once I turned 45, you can time an anxiety attack to the week before my period.
Yes, absolutely. I'm 44 and experience the same. One thing that can really throw women off is alcohol. No one wants to hear it but eliminating alcohol is a game changer. I also stick to decaf mostly.
@Anon6247 I didn't want to hear that either, but finally admitted it to myself a year ago and gave up alcohol - feel so much better. Age 48.
How much were you drinking? No judgement just curious if giving up my 1-2 drinks a week would help.
@freckles More than that for sure but not intervention style drinking. I would probably have 3 glasses 5x/week. Not great but plenty of people consume this and more. I don't think 1-2/week is any big deal at all.
Yes, for sure. Just turned forty. I have always been high strung, but it’s worsening.
