Distant relative has a newborn. We gave new baby strollers, bassinet, car seat, books, developmental toys, and other items. I mentioned to another relative that I’ve been cleaning out dc’s clothes, and now I’ve been asked to give those to the newborn, even though they can’t be worn for many years. Am I wrong to not want to do that? Sure they’re nice clothes, but there are people who really need them now. Times are tough and it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Should I really give them to distant relative to sit in boxes, literally for years? DH thinks as long as they get used at some point, it’s fine, and family is family, distant or not. Thoughts?
