I was watching some SATC reruns. When I watched the series the first time around, I liked Big, but in watching it again (at middle age), I think Aidan is the clear choice if you're looking for a husband. I know it's a TV show, but c'mon...play along with me. Who would you pick?
I feel like Aidan is just too nice, Big is full of drama and glamor and a better fit for Carrie. I don't think Carrie was looking really for a husband though.
As a husband? Neither.
@Anonymous This. They were both awful in their own way.
Remind me why Aiden was awful? I’m not remembering that.
@Anonymous I wouldn't describe Aidan as awful. He was a good guy (on paper). But Big was more exciting.
For Carrie, Big. She was a horrible selfish self involved woman and he was like her in a man's body except richer. For me? Aiden. I did sort of marry an Aiden although I am a Miranda (if I had to box myself into those 4).
I also married an aidan and became a miranda and now am annoyed with both of us.
100pct accurate on Carrie. I’d marry Aiden. I did marry an Aiden.
@Anonymous same.
Just as long as it isn’t Berger.
Lol
Big was perfect for the Carrie character. They are both self centered jerks. For me I wouldn't like either.
"He's just not that into you" - Berger wins. Best line.
True. But then he lost all cred with the post-it note.
@Anonymous Fair.
Neither. She should have stayed single. Aidan was just not the right guy for her, and with Big, after ALL the back and forth, I had a hard time believing their HEA.
Obviously Barishnikov! He was awesome, Carrie was a selfish, spoiled child who couldn't bear that he was a successful artist. She anyway ended up not having kids, at least he was frank with her. That scene where he punched her or something in the Paris hotel room was so ridiculous.
No way! He was a jerk to her friends, not that nice to her, and just wanted a pretty woman on his arm. He was totally self-absorbed--the man who wants the benefits of a relationship...until he has to put in any effort, at which point, you're either along for his ride or you're history.
@Anonymous That's not at all how I remember him. I thought Carrie left for Paris with no real job so she was lonely and bored.
he was NOT funny.
The real life personality / writer was dumped, right? Candace someone?
Fun fact- I was an extra on season 5, episode 1. I was 21. Now I’m 40! Wild.
Fun! Did you have any lines? Which character were you?
