On what basis? Impeachment is a response to a crime. If you don't like a politician, you vote them out.
Do people think NYC will become unlivable?
There is no impeachment process for a NYC mayor. According to the Charter of the City of New York, the mayor can either be voted out of office (de Blasio is term-limited when his current term ends in 2021), can voluntarily step down, or can be removed from office by the governor of New York State. There’s no procedure whereby the City Council or any other city body can remove the mayor from office. “The mayor may be removed from office by the governor upon charges and after service upon him of a copy of the charges and an opportunity to be heard in his defense. Pending the preparation and disposition of charges, the governor may suspend the mayor for a period not exceeding thirty days.”
The blatant corruption and patronage? How many donors have received contracts, and Thrive for that matter.
OMG so your'e saying Cuomo can just oust BDB? If so, wow. And let's hope he does.
@anonymous yes technically he can.
It makes me wonder if we'll see a swing to the right ( a law and order candidate) in the next election. Alternatively, maybe it will swing to the left.
Unfortunately, stupidity and irresponsibility are not impeachable offenses.
