I can't stop thinking about Judge Salas and her son. I knew Daniel-- he was such a sweet boy. The world is a darker place without him. Judge Salas just released a video statement about what happened the day her son was murdered. If I were her, I'd want to lay down and die, but she got up, got dressed and faced the world. I'm thankful she did this. Watch it here: https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/03/us/federal-judge-esther-salas/index.html
This brought tears to my eyes. She is a very strong person and a model of integrity. And she's right that federal law enforcement has shamefully failed to protect judges, who are targets for violence.
Privacy laws are for shit in this country. She's absolutely right in demanding addresses not being published.
My neighbor is a judge and her info isn’t published. For my house however, everyone can do a quick search and find out my address, how much I paid for the house, etc. It’s pathetic. At least people should be required to register before they can search property records.
