How are you using money to solve the school/pandemic problem this coming year, and how much is it costing you? Do you have a second home or something you are renting? Are you paying for a pod. I keep thinking that there must be a way to help alleviate the pain and discomfort coming in fall, and anything I think of is too much $$ to make it seem worthwhile to me, but I'm interested to hear what others are doing

We bought a pro treadmill for my autistic DC, best investment so far
For the people switching to private school, aren’t you worried schools will eventually go remote again, and then you’ll be stuck paying private tuition for remote learning?
Switching- 9 year-old and six-year-old from public to private school, where they’re having five days a week in person classes. Public school district has online only.
Moved to the country permanently and I am going to be helping the Kids with school. I left my position bc it’s what works for now. We rented a beach house for July and just returned. I’m not a fan of the pods, I think people are way too optimistic when it comes to how it will actually play out
I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to get a car. We have been staying out our parents out of state, and to get back and forth we need to rent a car.
We have a small weekend house upstate, have been in NYC 98% of the time but just the possibility of being outdoors once in a while without anyone else around and relaxing without worrying is a true luxury. Definitely expensive, so we're throwing a ton of money at the problem!
I’m a teacher and I am upgrading my printer so I can do most of my printing in my room and not the teacher’s lounge.
We’re moving countries and putting our kids into a private school that will be open. Too much uncertainty where we are. I don’t trust politicians not to close schools again.
We've been at our country house since March. We will stay until school opens or sports resume. I bought a new printer, tablet and laptop and will probably buy another laptop for my middle schooler. Not interested in pods. I am fully stocking art supplies and fun school supplies like shaped erasers and fancy composition books.
We are saving gobs of money--no travel, no restaurants, no fancy clothes, no events, no housecleaning, no babysitting and we negotiated 1 month free rent on our city apartment. I'm giving generously to our public schools, Donors choose in general and Democratic candidates.
