I'm over 40 and my last mammogram was two years ago. My gynecologist suggested I go in for another one. I have no history of breast cancer in my family. I'm thinking of delaying it. I feel like waiting a few months won't matter?
I am also waiting until I get the vaccine for getting the mammogram. My GYN was really something. When I explained to her that I am hesitant to go for mammogram due to covid, she got angry and said if I am doing everything and seeing the GYN then why can't I get the mammogram? She seemed very upset that I scheduled an appt to see her.
It's up to you, but I've had all my check ups over the past few months and am having a colonoscopy on Friday. Doctors offices seem super safe to me because they are bending over backwards to make sure they are. However, waiting a few months isn't a big deal.
I’m 40 with no family history. Decided to wait till 45. Of course then a close friend also with no family history just found a lump (after a normal exam in the office two months earlier!!!) and has triple negative ductal carcinoma... just had bilateral mastectomy and starting chemo soon.
I don’t have any good advice. even the experts (gynecology, family practice, radiology) differ in their recommendations.
I don’t think it matters to wait a few months, but I just went for a screening mammogram and a follow up diagnostic mammogram this month and I felt they were very good about Covid precautions.
I got mine in may. i felt very safe. they are spacing out appointments and cut down the number of people in the office. maybe ask about protocols to see if it makes you feel better
Just go. My mom is in her 80s and has had a ton of dr appts, physical therapy, and a cataract procedure last week. All of her drs. are being super careful and it's been totally fine.
Im waiting

How odd!

I have an appointment on Tuesday afternoon. I feel comfortable going in.
I went in November and didn't think twice. But my mother had BC so I am higher risk.

Wow. That is terrible. My only concern OP is that elective procedures may be canceled - wonder if mammo's also might get delayed soon too.
I had all my regular appts, including mammogram.

getting mine next week. Are you slow???
I got mine in September - it was delayed from March. Felt very comfortable.
