Ugh. One of my back molars has started hurting; I'm afraid it's a cavity or worse. Has anyone been to the dentist since things shut down? I haven't been completely locked down, but I haven't been anywhere indoors for an extended period of time and the dentist with someone close peering into my wide open mouth seems a particularly bad place to me (for me and the dentist). What are dentist visits like now?

My whole family has been. The offices are not crowded, you will not wait long, and the dentists and technicians are wearing a ton of PPE. It was scary at first but felt comfortable. Good Luck!
Yes, today! Was totally fine. She was wearing 2 masks and they were super diligent about cleaning all the surfaces I touched.
I've been too. Short wait times, tons of PPE. Very quick, efficient experience and I went in for more than just a cleaning.
As others have mentioned, lots of PPE. Also, we have to wash our mouths with peroxide prior to any sort of exam.
Echoing the above. Dentist in mid July was totally fine. Ask them to email you what their protocols are for safety (PPE, air filtration, etc.) if you need to feel better.
Agree. Went to dentist in mid-June for a cleaning and it was fine. Staff wore PPE. Appointments were staggered. Took the subway there and back. No problems.
me and my DD. lots of PPE, temperature checks, checked symptoms the day before ans at the office, not crowded at all.
