For those of you with kids in day camp. How’s it going?
Day camp in the Hamptons - week 2. So far, so good!
Day camp to start for my DS next week. I’m excited for him. He’s had way too much screen time.
What’s the plan if someone tests posigive?
Day 2 of tennis camp. Kids had a blast and are tired when they get home. Was nice to work in peace for most of the day.
Day 2 of camp - shorter and less kids than previous summers, but so far from what I spied on, it was good. Lots of hand sanitizer and masks. My kid is happier for sure.
Do they have to wear masks all the time? Even when playing sports?
All counselors wore masks at all times. The kids could take them off when they were playing sports outside (andd had room to distance) and when having snack. (this was an older group of say 8-11 year olds)
Day 2 of outdoor camp in Prospect Park. They take temps on the way in and ask us to pinky swear the kids have not had a fever or [long list of symptoms] in the last 14 days. Groups of 10 or so, masks all day. Some activities are different from previous years, but it seems like for most they just add buckets of sanitizer before and after, plus wash down any shared equipment. No shared art supplies so there was a big supply list, and no fountain use so every kid is carrying like 3 bottles of water. No rain plan except they’ll let us know the night before if the forecast is bad enough to cancel. Despite all this, kiddo is so glad to be with other kids and we hear nothing but good.
Preschool son is in a multisport day camp. It’s excellent, I’m so happy he’s back with his friends. Outside, no masks for kids but adults wear them, minimal social distancing.
